The 2023-24 Upper Deck Credentials Hockey Hobby Box has arrived, bringing with it an array of exciting chase cards and inserts that are sure to captivate collectors. This year’s release continues the tradition of offering a 200-card Base Set, featuring a 100-card Debut Ticket Access rookie subset that’s split into four tiers of rarity. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, here’s what you can expect from this highly anticipated product.
A Deep and Colorful Parallel Lineup
The base set’s parallel lineup is nothing short of spectacular, with nine different parallels to collect. Some of the highlights include the Green parallel, numbered to 25, the Hobby-exclusive Purple parallel numbered to 10, the ultra-rare Gold parallel numbered to 5, and the elusive Black parallel, which is a 1-of-1. On average, collectors can expect to find one of these coveted parallel cards per box.
The Debut Ticket Access rookie subset also has a horizontal variant, featuring the same serially-numbered tiers and parallel lineup. Each box should yield one Base Set parallel card and four Debut Ticket Access cards, which can include both regular and parallel versions, as well as horizontal variants.
Hard-Signed Autographs: The Heart of Credentials
One of the most thrilling aspects of the Credentials Hockey Hobby Box is the inclusion of hard-signed autographs. This year’s release does not disappoint, especially with the stellar 2023-24 rookie class. Here’s a breakdown of the autograph sets to watch for:
- Debut Ticket Access Autographs: Featuring the top 2023-24 rookies, these cards are split into three tiers numbered to 299, 199, and 99. The Purple parallels are particularly rare, numbered to just 10.
- Horizontal Debut Ticket Access Autographs: This variant focuses on the top 25 rookies, with cards numbered to 99 or 35. The Purple parallels in this set are extremely limited, numbered to just 3 or 2.
- Ticket Access Autographs: A must-have for fans of veteran players, these cards are numbered to 99, 49, or 25, with Purple parallels numbered to 2.
- Retro Ticket Access Autographs: This limited-subject set features a retro ticket-inspired design and highlights five superstar players. The cards are numbered to 25, with Purple parallels numbered to 2.
- Acetate Debut Ticket Access & Ticket Access Autographs: Built on popular acetate stock, these stunning cards, numbered to 99 or less, are a valuable addition to any collection.
- NEW! 1997 Season Ticket Retro Acetate Autographs & Rookie Autographs: Making their hockey debut, these classic cards are numbered to just 25 and are bound to be a collector’s favorite.
Fresh Inserts and Returning Favorites
Upper Deck has introduced new insert sets in this year’s Credentials release! The Who’s Best? and Who’s Next? sets focus on the best players and top up-and-comers at the Forward, Defenseman, and Goalie positions. Keep an eye out for Auto parallels within these sets.
The popular Main Stage Signatures and Speed of the Game inserts also make a return. Main Stage Signatures is a veteran-only autograph set with Gold parallels numbered to 25 and 10, and a 1-of-1 Black parallel. Speed of the Game, with its stunning Light FX design, showcases some of the fastest players in the league today, both veterans and rookies. On average, each box contains two Speed of the Game cards.
