For 2025-26, collectors can once again hunt a variety of Electric Etch parallels alongside some much tougher case hits and short-printed variations.

Black Color Blast

If there’s one card you immediately want to watch for, it’s a Black Color Blast.

Color Blast cards have become some of the most recognizable modern inserts across Panini products, and the Obsidian Black Color Blast gives the concept a darker twist that fits the product perfectly.

Black Color Blast cards fall approximately one per Hobby case, making one featuring the right superstar a potentially huge pull.

Contra Parallels

Black Color Blast isn’t the only case-level chase. Collectors will also want to watch for Contra parallels, which are also found approximately one per Hobby case.

Obsidian’s dark base design makes its contrasting parallels especially eye-catching, and Contra cards have become a familiar chase for collectors who return to the product each season.

Pulling one is already difficult. Landing a Contra of one of the checklist’s top international stars makes it even better.

Caldera /25 Parallel

There’s a brand-new chase joining Obsidian for 2025-26: Caldera.

This Hobby-exclusive parallel is numbered to just 25 copies, giving collectors another low-numbered card to hunt throughout the release.

Color-Flood Parallels

The 2025-26 release will also feature rare Color-Flood parallels. These colorful variations should provide a dramatic contrast to Obsidian’s signature black design, making them easy to spot when one shows up in a break.

Between Color-Flood, Contra, Caldera and the broader Electric Etch lineup, parallel hunting is going to be a major part of the fun with this year’s product.

Obsidian is a compact break, but Panini packs plenty into every box. Each Hobby box contains:

• 1 Parallel
• 1 Insert or Insert Parallel
• 1 Base Card

That means four of the seven cards in your box will be autographs or memorabilia cards, making Obsidian a great option for collectors who enjoy getting straight to the hits.
